Little Yogis

What is Little Yogis?

Little Yogis is a program that teaches children tools and techniques for healthy self-expression, self-regulation, and self-love! It is dedicated to creating a safe, cheerful, memorable atmosphere for children to learn how to connect and communicate in fun and diverse ways with themselves, others and the world at large.

Classes move in creative ways, act out stories, practice mindful breathing and listening, and interact with kindness and compassion. Children learn basic yoga movement, mindful sense-exploration, breathing techniques, and self-awareness. They wiggle and giggle, dance freely, play drums and howl, practice silence, and listen with the whole body.  Teachers seek out and nurture innate gifts of their little yogis, and always strive to lead them in healthy self-expression.

Little Yogis honors and recognizes that each child marches to the beat of their own drum, and all children need to express. Classes provide opportunities for children to learn and practice accepting one another's differences and to celebrate the diversity of life by exploring movement and play together.

The curriculum uses a dynamic mix of yogic principles and techniques and tools from various programs including MindUp, MindfulGames, Karma Kids Yoga, and work from Thich Nhat Hahn.

The class is perfect for Elementary-aged children whose family desires to encourage their children toward healthy freedom-of-expression and mindful-living.

Lead teachers, Kris Clay and Analiese Hill, both received their 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification through Trinity Yoga.
